DSP PURPOSE AND PHILOSOPHY

This program is designed to be a development opportunity for players affiliated with Massachusetts Youth Soccer over the summer. The goal of the program is to provide a “pressure free” yet competitive soccer environment in which players can focus entirely on their development. This program is developmental and therefore no standings will be kept during the regular season. The program concludes with a twoday tournament in which all DSP teams will participate. Regular season play does not affect seeding for the tournament. Due to the brevity of the DSP season and the fact that it is during the month of July, players who will miss more than one week of the regular season or who will miss the DSP Tournament are discouraged from participating

FAQ’s

Q - How do I register

A - Please register via the following link: http://www.mayouthsoccer.org/programs/district_two/

Q - My child cannot make a tryout, can they still play?

A - Please contact me with regard to any conflicts and we will look to resolve these. First and foremost is making sure that players get an opportunity to play so we are very willing to work with you

Q - Do we need to make both tryouts?
A –- Both are not mandatory but are encouraged as the more players we have, the better to evaluate them

Q - There is no coach in my age group, does this mean that there isn’'t a team
A –-  We are seeking a 11U girls coach and if the numbers support a second team, then another 16u girls coach as well

Q –-  My child plays on a club team, what is the level of competition for the DSP?
A – -  Many of the players that play in the DSP are club players and the level of competition depending on the district will be quality. The focus and philosophy for District two as suggested to the coaches is to develop players individually within the team environment rather than the other way around. Even playing time is strongly suggested and a focus on improving players via an age appropriate topic is provided to the coaches

Q - – When are the training dates and where?
A -– Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays at the Borden Colony Complex, 2254 King Philip St. Raynham MA

Q- – What days do we play and where?
A - The 2019 season starts the weekend of July 6th and 7th and will conclude with the DSP Tournament at the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Fields at Progin Park in Lancaster, MA on August 3rd and 4th. The schedule will be released one week prior to the opening weekend.
